How did Gandhi defeated the British ?

By putting them in the spotlight as they beat thousands upon thousands of the Indians to a pulp trying to get them to conform to their rule. Probably embarred them so bad they just got up and left. One thing is to invade and conquer for the prime goods of a country but it is another thing when that country stands up and says ok, if you want this you are going to have to physically beat it out of us. After awhile the henchmen who were doing the bidding of the English lost heart and gave it up. The world wide public became aware of it and the English had a hard time explaining it in a world too sensitive and alerted by the new public information systems. They just figured it best to leave it alone and go away. They did. Gandhi was educated in England and new this was how the English were. A backwater bunch of thugs who loved to fight. No fight no glory. And this was definitely one of those times where no glory was to be had. Gandhi played his game well.
