Taking down John Lewis venetian blinds. HELP!?

We have a narrow venetian blind from John Lewis fitted to our bathroom window with two top brackets fitted to the top of the window recess. We need to take it down to paint the walls but cannot figure out how to do it. Any ideas??? Its three years since we put it up and can't remember how it was done.
