Do you lose all respect for a woman if you find she's into diamonds?

Between the absurdity of the fact that the only way to recognize a quality artificial diamond is the absence of flaws, the fact that the prices are dictated by a few companies controlling the supply to create artificial scarcity, and worst of all the fact that diamond revenues are used to fund all manner of atrocities (and knowing that a particular diamond is not a "blood diamond" is not as straightforward as DeBeer's would have you believe) and that the diamond industry relies on virtual (sometimes actual) slave labor and that almost none of the resources go back to the countries in which they are mined... is a woman who demands diamonds incredibly ignorant or incredibly narcissistic?
